Hi. I presume you generally work with models who want to be shot nude. I feel very indecisive about asking girls I know to pose for me, perhaps because I'm too afraid of being refused. I guess you would say there's no place for being overly timid if you want to do something and you really mean it. But do you have any advise in general how to approach girl who don't stand out as models?
In my experience most women enjoy being photographed naked, it depends on timing. If your intentions are straight forward and sincere you shouldn’t have any problems. If you are nervous during your approach they might misunderstand your intentions. Be clear and decisive. Don’t dither or behave or say anything ambiguous. Take control of the situation. Don’t be afraid of rejection, I’ve been rejected occasionally but many have come back to me a little later and changed their minds.
When I had ideas I envied those who had the equipment so I started to waste time and money to buy better equipment. Now I envy those who have ideas.I feel empty. How can I be inspired?
I think most people go through a similar phase. Don’t wait to be inspired, go out and shoot anything and everything! women, trees, mountains, cars, anything! you’ll probably shoot a pile of shit but occasionally you will find something worth keeping. Photography isn’t a competition, enjoy yourself, shoot for pleasure. Detach yourself from any conventional thought, forget about equipment, don’t compare yourself or your circumstance to others, just do your own thing.
